Would you care for coffee, tea, or treasures? While a warm hello and smile goes along way, as a flight attendant, a day's duties vary from ambassador to safety professional to short order cook. And at the end of a haul there’s a flight attendant adage that says “another day, another tray”. Routine as that may sound, there is something uniquely special about boarding our “office,” a jet. For instance, on a dark overcast day , within moments, we soar through the air, rise above gray clouds to clear blue skies, sunshine and amazing views. I am reminded -- no matter how gloomy things may seem, the sun still shines. That is just part of the story.
There is something about the unfolding of a journey that brings meaning to arriving at the destination. Whether it is enjoying crew camaraderie, gaining a new perspective, being blessed by the kindness of a stranger, catching an idea, finding just the right gift or, on a really good day, you may even meet the love of your life. It all adds to the richness of the journey. It’s often about the stories connected to the people, the people connected to the places, and the places connected to the discoveries, both great and small.
Journey Treasures celebrate the stories that create the treasures as well as the treasures themselves. Some of the items chosen I have given as gifts, some I’ve received and some simply came across my path. Hopefully, you will discover something special and then learn the inspiring story behind it. A lot of heart and soul goes into the production and selection of each item. This enhances its significance and affirms the hope, joy and passion of the designers, the purveyor and you.
On this road called life, we are all travelers. Whether our jaunt takes us across the globe, on a quick trip to the market, to a place found only in our dreams, or drifting on memories cherished within our hearts, somewhere on the trail, amid the departures and arrivals, the delays and detours, hellos and goodbyes, we're bound for a taste of unforeseen goods; Journey Treasures!
